Brookville Lake was started in 1965 and completed in 1975. It is a U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Flood Control Project. The lake is 5200 acres in the summer. Summer pool is 748 feet above sea level. In the winter the lake decreases in size to about 4800 acres and the level is 740 feet. The flood level for this lake 775 feet. The highest level ever recorded at this lake was 776.1 feet on January 18, 2005.
